Have you spotted it yet ? I know I have. Only a 15-minute walk from my house, and there was "the" Waxwing .... in a handy, suburban, er, suburb with plenty of berry trees to give it a good circuit. That, I'm afraid, is the best photo I could get with the smallest camera in the world .... an even worse one will be along shortly. After a few lonely mins, a few locals turned up, householders came out to have a look, my bins got a few more " look-throughs" by various MOTP ... Members of the Public ... and everyone was happy. The only downside was .... I couldn't hear it. Maybe it wasn't calling ... I couldn't bear to ask ! Getting old is like being punished for something you haven't done. And I certainly haven't done it ... whatever " it " is. Still ... always a great bird to see. Let's hope there's lots more to come. Mind you, there was a lot of " looking upwards" involved ... And yes ... that is an excuse to play that DCFC song again .... sublime stuff. I roll the window down
And then begin to breathe in The darkest country road And the strong scent of evergreen From the passenger seat as you are driving me home Then looking upwards I strain my eyes and try To tell the difference between shooting stars and satellites From the passenger seat as you are driving me home Do they collide? I ask and you smile With my feet on the dash The world doesn't matter When you feel embarrassed then I'll be your pride When you need directions then I'll be the guide For all time For all time ... and here's the " even worse" photo for your amusement/amazement ...
