This post was written a while ago but because my computer has been very erratic lately I've only managed to get it on here this morning. Well ..... I've been waiting and waiting for the first Swift to arrive ....and yesterday it actually happened. I zoomed up to Grumbling Stumps and after 10 minutes of neck-knackering due to looking upwards I spotted three of them !! I was chuffed ! I can't hear them any more, which is a sad thing. Especially as I'm getting old and decrepit. AND .... every year when "my" first Swift is spotted, I celebrate madly with a dinky can of Pale Ale ! I hardly ever get to drink any alcohol, so it is a real pleasure. Of course, I waited till I got home to swig it. Steady now ! BUT ..there's more to do.... the next landmark Swiftwise is when I "get" one in the 3K ... that's the 3-kilometre-radius centred on my house ... my own little empire. And the next landmark is when there one seen from the house. So ..that's all happened. .. And now, top Spanish band Vetusta Morla ... |
